My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It’s been a long time coming – but fabulous Bing is finally ready for adoption!! This super-suave debonair young lad is as handsome as can be – full of life, love, and a tough little guy to boot. Are we ever glad he made it! Bing is proving to be a total gem. Bing came to WBCR a very sick little dog. He was hospitalized within 24 hours of arriving in his foster home with a very severe case of antibiotic-resistant pneumonia. It turned out to be a tough case to break and before it was all over Bing was hospitalized again and put on 7 different antibiotics at various times to try and beat the pneumonia. Bing proved to be one tough little guy, and beat it he did!

He is a now a healthy, robust and energetic guy who loves nothing better than a good long walk/run/hike. However, due to the severity and length of his battle with pneumonia he does have very slight, but permanent, lung damage. Vets have to listen to his lungs very closely to pick it up, but there are some ‘rattles’ there and his chest x-rays still show mild cloudiness. He will need a home that will be extra-vigilant about his health as he is a bit more susceptible to respiratory illnesses than most dogs.

But this little bit of extra vigilance will be WELL worth this prize of a dog. Bing is a happy-go-lucky, glad to be alive kind of guy – with a great sense of humor, too! His favorite game to play involves his favorite...house slippers! Yes, house slippers! He is not interested in any other footwear. But he will surely grab your slippers when you aren’t looking and then run and hide them and wait to see if you can find them before your toes freeze! He keeps his foster family laughing and brings positive vibes wherever he goes. He is not overly pushy, nor overly sensitive, nor overly timid, nor overly anything when meeting new people - he is just right. Non-dog people (yes, there are a few of those in the world) like him and will get sucked into giving him a pat on the head. Noone can resist his charm! And Bing enjoys them all – even children, who Bing is very patient with.

Although people are his preference, Bing gets along well with other dogs, too. Bing is great with cats and seems to enjoy having them around. However, pet birds are a no-go for this guy! He loves to chase birds and runs with wild abandon through the sage-brush jumping anything that gets in his way when he is on the trail of a flying bird! He does not bother small song-birds, but anything bigger than a robin is fair game. His foster home is now a ‘magpie free’ zone thanks to his hard work! He is good with horses and livestock, but needs to be reminded occasionally that they are to be admired from a respectful distance. He loves being outside and any kind of outdoor activity – hiking, horseback rides, long walks, you name it, Bing is up for it. He’s learning about toys, and is not above herding other dogs or the occasional child. Bing is a pretty active fella and will need a home that can give him a good couple hours of exercise daily.

Bing is, of course, is very smart and willing to learn…if you ask him nicely! He's housetrained and cratetrained. His recall is great! He also sits, downs, shakes, knows ‘off’ and ‘leave it’, and is learning all kinds of skills to make him the perfect dog in his foster home. Bing could certainly benefit from an adopter willing to continue with his training and he will also definitely need an adopter who will set boundaries for him, as he can be a bit of a limit-pusher!

We think Bing is between 1 and 2 years old and may be a BC/Aussie mix. Whatever he is, he is STUNNING! He is a tri-color with just a hint of brown/gold to set off his soulful eyes! He is gorgeous and despite his photo, he's really just pint-sized at only about 33 pounds!

All in all, Bing is an OUTSTANDING dog who will fit in perfectly in an active home that has plenty of love and attention to give. If you are looking for a wonderful character to be your outdoor adventure sidekick - Bing may be the guy for you!

Bing is neutered, fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Heber, UT.
