My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amy is a Great Pyrenees with some Brittany Spaniel(??) in her. We are unsure of her age as she is more active than a typical Great Pyrenees and is quite spirited. Amy is a great conversationalist; she will snarfle with you and really enjoys it when you chat back. Amy also barks to let you know when she would like to go out and will bark to request to come back in.

As Amy settles into our home, we are discovering how much of a little lady she is. Amy has incredible manners and will wait for me to go down the stairs first before she will begin to descend the staircase (unlike some of our dogs, who woosh past me!). Amy does want to show you she cares so she will bark to protect your home and yard. Amy does great with cats and enjoys the company of other dogs. She wants to enjoy your companionship at all times- Amy’s greatest joy is being with her family. She enjoys field trips and does well in a variety of social settings.

Kids are Amy’s dearest friends as she loves to play and cuddle with them. Amy is also quite smart- she has been able to read the 'moods' of the children and react accordingly. They are working with Amy on catching snacks in the air and she has about a 50% success rate so far. We do think older kids would be a better fit for Amy.

Amy absolutely loves to go on van rides and explore new places; she is a great car rider. On Fridays Amy attends the kid’s school and enjoys all the love and attention she receives. Amy also enjoys a play date with the neighbor's dogs and is a gracious hostess to them. Amy is anxious to go on walks with you and will explore wherever you take her.

Amy really enjoys running, playing and being silly. But, she does know when to calm down in the house and can be a couch potato with the best of them. Amy will sit and stay for you and she is very smart and aims to please you. Amy loves to flip over and encourage you to relax from your stressful day by giving a good belly rub, and she will reward you with kisses if you let her. Amy is on inexpensive thyroid medication- only $8.00 a month and really is a great pill taker. Amy comes fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and has all her vaccinations.

Secure, visible fencing is required for outdoor time. A site visit, adoption application, and adoption fee are required to adopt Amy.
