My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4/20/10 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $500

Fostered in Oklahoma

Age: 1 year

Weight: 6.4 lbs.

ADOPTION APPLICATION REQUIRED.
Visit www.YorkieHavenRescue.com to apply.

2/3/10 - I’m what you would call a sports car. I can go from 0 to 60 in seconds, corner like I’m on rails and can stop on a dime. What I’m trying to say is that I have E-N-E-R-G-Y. I’m a wild man (but can calm down if you want to roll me over and give me belly rubs or just cuddle with the cutest pup ever). I was found as a stray by a nice lady who found me a place to live (temporarily). The home she found wasn't prepared for the time, attention and care a puppy would need, so a couple of months after settling in there, I went to my second home (my foster home with YHR). I did learn one thing while at my previous home, I DO NOT LIKE CRATES. I go a little beserk if put in one. So a home with nothing resembling a crate would be nice.

I'm really enjoying my foster home because there are lots of other pups my size to play with. I'm an eager and energetic little fellow who LOVES to play with other pups, humans, toys, loves treats and life. To that end, another pup in the household (preferably one that likes to play and can keep up with me) would be spectacular. I like to follow my new foster mom around, but I'm not obsessive with it, I just worship the ground she walks on and appreciate her for saving me.

Potty training isn't something that I totally have down yet, but when you have previously lived on the streets and can go wherever you want, it takes a little while to realize that the house isn't your toilet.

My previous person indicated to my foster mom that he did get me groomed once and it was a very traumatic experience for me. It will take a little while before I will trust those people again, but since yorkies have to be groomed regularly, please pick me out a very nice and patient groomer and I'll work with my fears.

Understand my personality and realize the active lifestyle that will be involved before inquiring to adopt me. Oh, I almost forgot, I cannot be adopted out to a home with young children as I might be a little nippy and unexpected noises and movements tend to startle me.

Oh, I'm going in this Friday (2/5) to be neutered (OUCH), have my loose dew claws removed and be microchipped. Keep me in your thoughts as I go under anesthesia and get your butt on the computer and fill out an application for me.
