Emmy's Story...
Emmy is an adorable Aussie/Shepherd/Lab mix who was born 10/8/09. She is a smart and very well behaved little pup who enjoys snuggling and chewing on ice cubes. Emmy is working on her housetraining but she is crate trained and usually sleeps through the night. As she is only 4 months old, she is an active pup who does half flips in the air when she gets excited! Emmy gets along well with cats as well as other dogs especially her foster sister Nina. She weighs 17 lbs. now so should get to be about 40-50 lbs as an adult.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Patti at 913.766.5010 or pthun@kc.rr.com to find out when and where you can meet EMMY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emmy, a Overland Park Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
