My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are interested in adopting Cullen, please contact Elaine at 847-940-0499 or e-mail a.horwitz@comcast.net for an application. Honestly, we have no idea what combination of dog breeds are in Cullen, but whatever the recipe, a lot of sugar was added! Cullen was found stray outside a vet’s office, and the office held onto him for 8 months until we could take him in foster care because they appreciated what a great dog he is. Foster homes are always needed for so many rescue groups, ours included. Cullen looks like he is probably less than 2 years old and he weighs about 55 lbs. He is active, but not hyper. Cullen is great with adults and kids, as well as other dogs (we would like him matched with a female rather than a male). We do not know how he would be with cats, but he certainly keeps watch for the dreaded intruder, MR. SQUIRREL, in our yard. Cullen is a VERY quick learner and loves obedience training. He would be a GREAT dog for obedience or rally, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he took to agility. He plays well with his foster sister, Poppy (also on our website). We want Cullen to have a fenced yard so he can play safely, and he LOVES to retrieve balls. The Cubs could use a guy like him in the outfield. .We would like a home where he is not alone a full workday, not because he would be a problem, but because he deserves the companionship. I’m not sure how well I can express in print how much we adore this dog. Cullen is fun, well-mannered for his age, very sociable and trainable, and just an all-around good, good boy. Cullen will only be adopted to a home located within 1.5 hours of the northern Chicago suburbs. The adoption fee for Cullen is $200.00, which includes shots, heartworm test, microchip, fecal and neuter. Please e-mail Elaine for an application at a.horwitz@comcast.net or call 847-940-0499 so I can go on some more about how great he is!
