Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PLEASE NOTE that the San Diego Poodle Club Rescue does NOT have this dog - this is a courtesy cross posting.
Floyd is an 8 year old neutered male apricot miniature poodle. He is about 15 inches tall.
Floyd was originally adopted in 1999 at the age of one year through Pet Pro-Life. His adoptive owner passed away in 2004 and Floyd then went to live with a friend. However, he has not gotten along with one of the other dogs that lives there. In addition, his current caregiver is having severe health problems which are forcing her to scale back her responsibilities.
Floyd is very active and seems much younger than his age. He has sensitive skin and should be bathed frequently. In the winter he gets cold and needs plenty of blankets on his bed, and wears a coat outside. His coat condition varies according to what he is fed. Currently he seems to be doing well on Nature’s Recipe Adult Lamb and Rice dry food. He takes glucosamine with chondroitin daily for his joints. In the summer of 2004 he had lumbar-sacral surgery, but his surgeon says he is fully recovered and can go back to doing agility.
Floyd likes:
Lounging on a pile of pillows
Jumping into your arms and giving kisses
Going for walks
Agility
Pulling stuffing out of toys especially when you are preparing his meal
Grabbing your socks when you are trying to put them on
Playing tug
Chasing toys
Floyd does not like:
Other male dogs, especially older ones
Floyd is well-socialized with people because he was a Therapy Dog . His deceased owner participated in the SPCA’s PAWS Therapy Dog group. Also, when his deceased owner became ill many of her friends took over training and running Floyd in agility classes and competition for her. However, he has not lived with men or children. He knows basic obedience commands and is housebroken and crate trained.
Floyd is currently registered:
AKC: ILP number under his deceased owner’s name but the current caregiver is executor of her estate and can transfer ownership
NADAC: under current caregiver
USDAA: under deceased owner’s name
TDI: unknown, but probably was registered since he was a Therapy Dog
For information on this dog please call Floyd's care giver Janine G. at 1 (714) 893-3379.
