Dusty's Story...
8/17/05 - Update from the foster mom
Dusty arrived yesterday, and so far he is an absolute love! Handsome and mellow! His health is good, but needs to shed some weight. He and our resident golden started to instantly play upon meeting (Miss Marble is happy have a foster sibling interested in play!). He also gets along fine with our other foster golden.

He walks well on the leash, and the person who transported him says he rides well in the car. He is an all around good boy.

What an adorable senior this guy is! His owner is a single dad and just couldn't care for him any longer. Good with other dogs, Dusty is as nice as they come and would make the perfect companion for someone who leads a quiet, laid-back life.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dusty, a Cleveland Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Cleveland, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Cleveland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cleveland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cleveland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cleveland paves the way for another one to be saved.
