Summer's Story...
Summer is a very darling 7-month-old, 25-pound Labrador Retriever-mix puppy who seeks a new loving home. We're not sure what Summer is mixed with but basically she looks like a mini yellow Lab with a little longer snout. She has not grown much over the few weeks since her arrival so we really think she's going to be a smaller dog, maybe 30 pounds. It's funny; Summer is a little shy at first but she's really not shy at all. In fact, she's quite bold and confident once she's comfortable. She adores and is very loving and affectionate toward people of all ages. She loves to cuddle and is fun to pet because she has the silkiest, softest golden coat. She is crazy about other dogs and loves to play, chase, and have fun with her canine pals. If you like Labs but want a smaller dog, Summer could be your gal. She's a real cutie who will make a most cherished pet.

Summer is vaccinated and will be spayed, microchipped, and heartworm-tested prior to or upon adoption. Her adoption fee of $350 helps support our rescue dogs. To meet and potentially adopt Summer, please email houndhaven@sbcglobal.net and/or call 224 678 5740 to complete an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Summer, a Jacksonville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
