Spike's Info...

I am housetrained, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Spike's Story...
Spike is a male, 2 year old Lab/Shepherd cross. He is another dog from the Quinte Humane Society. Unfortunately it is uncertain why Spike was given up by his owner. However, he is apparently good with other dogs, cats and children. He will also bark at the door if someone knocks. Spike hasn’t had any formal obedience training and because of his size, it would be something that his new owner should consider. Spike seems like a gentle giant and absolutely LOVES biscuits!
Spike has been at the NHS since September 16, 2005.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spike, a Port Hope Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Port Hope, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Port Hope.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Hope already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Hope breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Hope paves the way for another one to be saved.
