If you have already done so hoping to adopt me, don't despair.. Chunky Trunks Rescue will keep your application on file for possible future adoptable Bullies that might be a match for you family!

Note puppies rarely come into rescue situations but plenty of young adults and seniors need adoption more often. Support rescue efforts! Any amount helps!

Hello My name is Thumper! I am a 4 month old purebred red and white English Bulldog puppy. I am loving, outgoing, and looking for my furrever home. I hear my foster parents talking about my "ticker" being sick but this means nothing to me. I love to run and play all day long with my foster siblings and act and look just like any other rambunctious adorable Bullie puppy. I am a lover and just want to cuddle with you! I am a sweetie for sure!!!

The technical classification to my special needs is a heart murmur grade 2/3. I have had a few sporadic episodes of difficult breathing that lasted about 30 seconds at a time. I was diagnoses at 7 weeks and have been to a heart specialist. The specialist listened to my heart and did an ultrasound. He said I have tightening in 2 of the chambers and my heart muscle was thickening do to its working so hard to pump the blood through. He says I am not yet a candidate for medication or surgery due to my age. My life expectancy is unknown at this time. Could be a year could be I live a normal long life without any further symptoms. There have been many bullies with heart murmurs live happy non-symptomatic lives for many years and I hope that is what I find in my new furrever home.

If you feel you would like to take a chance at loving me and have the financial stability to help me if any issues come up down the road associated with my condition please submit an application for adoption. You will find our adoption application at the bottom of Please fill it out completely as skipping questions will cause the form to reset and you will have to re-enter all your info again.

Adoption application, reference check, home visit, adoption fee, and contract are required as part of my adoption process. Chunky Trunks can not possibly answer every inquiry that comes in about me so they limit response to those that have submitted a COMPLETE application for adoption. You should expect an adoption fee between $350-$650 depending on age, condition, and needs. Mine has not yet been set. Please do not ask. If you can not afford $350-$650 then the English Bulldog is not the breed for you.

There is no fee to submit an application but they do ask that you take your time, thoroughly and thoughtfully fill in your answers. This is the only info they have from you. Make it count. Out of state applicants are welcome if you are prepared to travel to Houston, TX to finalize adoption of your bullie; assuming the adoption process can be completed. NO SHIPPING!

PLEASE, if interested in his adoption, submit an application. This is the fastest way to get our attention. :0) We have had a lot of inquires about him but can not respond to them all unless we have an application to refer to. Thank you for your consideration.

UPDATE 02/24/10 Thumper was evaluated last week by our vet. Our vet spoke with the previous specialist that originally diagnosed Thumper's heart murmur at 7 weeks of age. Both the specialist and our vet are optimistic that Thumper will live a relatively normal life. It is a gamble with a 50/50 chance that he will be fine with no complications to complications starting at around 2 years. They suggest that his adoptive home have him re-evaluated at 1 year of age. So the good news is he has been released! He is now available for adoption!!!! We are currently processing applications for his adoption. We are looking for a very special home for Thumper. One with first hand English Bulldog experience and stability to handle whatever may be in Thumpers future medically.

Wish him lots of luck and love! If you would like to help sponsor his vetting you can make a secure donation via paypal. Any amount helps!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thumper, a Pearland English Bulldog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in Pearland, or seeking a English Bulldog puppy from a breeder in Pearland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pearland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pearland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pearland paves the way for another one to be saved.
