Maggie's Story...
Maggie is a 5-7 year old Golden Retriever/Chow mix. She is very sweet and loves to give kisses and get her belly rubbed. She is the ultimate couch potato and has let her foster mom know that the couch is her favorite spot. Maggie appears to be completely housebroken. She is also very food motivated and is learning commands quickly. Maggie should be fine in a home with another dog and appears to be cat safe. Maggie is spayed and current on all her shots.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Carolyn at 816-506-5500 or carolyn1007@yahoo.com to find out when and where you can meet MAGGIE!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Overland Park Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
