This stunning boy is Rocky, a rare white Labrador retriever. Well, OK, he might not be “rare”, and he might not be ALL Labrador retriever, but he certainly looks like it!! Rocky has the facial features, body, tail, and temperament of a purebred Labrador, except he is white with some cool black spots on his webbed feet and a pink pigment to his skin. He probably has some American Bulldog in his heritage (another family-friendly, smart breed), but we will never know for sure.

Rocky was taken to the shelter from his home when his owner became ill and couldn’t care for him. She was able to tell the shelter staff that he was housebroken and loved people and other dogs. We have found that to be very accurate! Rocky was incredibly scared at first (shelters will do that to you), and with his white tail between his legs he rode home from the shelter flattened to the floor of the car. All that changed when he entered his foster home! He joyously welcomed the other dogs and (human) kids, and his foster mom couldn’t believe this was the same dog she practically carried out of the shelter! Rocky is excellent with other dogs, fine with cats, and an affectionate and loyal foster dog. He walks quite well on a leash, and loves playing with tennis balls. He has the typical happy-go-lucky attitude of purebred labs, and any labby fans out there will swoon when they meet him.

Rocky is about 1-2 years old and 75 pounds. He is completely housetrained, crate trained, up to date on all his shots, neutered, and heartworm negative. He is still a tiny bit timid when experiencing new situations, and he still does not like the vacuum cleaner. He would love a new home with another playful dog. We can’t say enough good things about this guy – come and meet him for yourself!
