Missy's Story...
Little Missy is the cutest little girl you will ever see. She weights all of 40lb and is 18mths old. She is doggie door trained and is good with children (she has 3 pink toenails to prove it) and other dogs. Missy was abandoned when her former owners moved. They left her tied up with rotten food and her papers under the bowl. A good next door neighbor contacted AZBHR and the rest is all good news. The sad part is that Missy does not act like a young dog. She doesn't know how to play with toys or play at all. She does not chew on anything in the house or yard. She loves to go for a walk and is very good on a leash. Are you that special family that could give her love and bring the joy back into her life. She loves to climb on your knees and give you a hug and I'm sure one day she will play.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Phoenix Basset Hound/Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound/Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound/Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
