Hi There, My name is Diesel, I am a 3 yr old neutered male cocker spaniel. I am with Rescue due to my previous owners having behavioral issues with me.
I do have some issues, however since being neutered, and my badly infected skin and ear infection issues treated, my foster mom here says she is seeing a change for the better, so I guess that’s good, huh??
I was badly overgrown also when coming into rescue, you see, my former mom said the groomer couldn’t groom me anymore because of my escalating behavior issues, I used to do fine at the groomer. Maybe my issues were from medical problems? My former mom then began shaving me down herself by having her husband hold me down and muzzle me so I actually became worse about being groomed. I don’t think she really understood me, I really am a loving boy!! I know she tried, I think my issues stemmed from me being so uncomfortable from those bad infections, and NOT being neutered (all that testosterone was making me wild). I still am healing, and I am not ready for adoption yet, but I am being posted because I am told “I have the potential to be a good dog, as long as I have an experienced handler”. I enjoy the company of other dogs very much, and I definitely need to learn some manners, but I think I will get there. I will need exercised regularly, a home with NO CHILDREN, and a confident leader to handle me.
Once I am cleared medically, and continue to show improvement, I am hoping to find my forever home, I will be doing my best, I will ask the rescue people here to update on my progress in a few weeks.
I am neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, and HW negative.
