My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bode is an energetic male about 2 years old. He is house trained but does occasionally mark. He is doggy door trained. He was originally taken from a weird situation and ended up in the Douglas shelter. He came to the shelter with his “significant other” and their 6 puppies! It must have taught him a lot about kids because he really likes interacting with most kids that he meets. However, he is pretty skittish with alpha dogs, alpha kids, loud noises, quick movements, baths, and rainstorms etc. He does do well with other dogs once he gets used to them as long as they aren’t too alpha. He loves to play with plush dog toys and run around the yard. He does like to go on walks but doesn’t know any leash manners yet so he does pull quite a bit; on the contrary, he is great at riding in the car and loves to look out the window. As far as his personality, he is very cuddly and loves to crawl into your lap or bed for cuddle time.



Bode also loves story time before his fosters kids go to sleep. He’s had a lot of upheaval in the short time he has been from Douglas to his current foster home, so he does have some anxiety when his family leaves. He does a little barking and has chewed up some newspapers. Nothing major and this may resolve as he becomes more comfortable in his surroundings. Overall, he is a very sweet thin boy who needs to put on a few pounds and grow his confidence a bit.
