10/9/10: Danny has now successfully completed his basic obedience class! Please check out the new pictures of this handsome boy.
9/15/10: Danny has come a long way in the past few months. He has successfully come through heartworm treatment and is thriving in his foster home. Danny is a loving dog but is still fearful at times of scary noises, new people, or different surroundings. He will rush to his crate (his secure place) when startled. But, this behavior has significantly decreased as he has become more comfortable and trusting. Danny loves his foster mom and is very sweet and friendly with those he knows and trusts.
Danny is currently enrolled in obedience training and is very quick to learn. He does well with commands and walks beautifully on leash.
Danny currently resides with two other dogs and a cat. He loves his doggy house-mates but is a little fixated on the cat. We think he would love to chase after the cat if given the opportunity!
Danny loves car rides and long walks. He is energetic and was recently introduced to another energetic male dog. There was concern Danny might react negatively but he did very welljust a few warning growls when the new dog pushed into his space.
We are very pleased with Danny's progress and know that he will make a wonderful addition to the right family. Patience and time will be the key in helping Danny finally overcome all his fears.
5/10/10 Poor Danny- he was adopted quite a while ago and now returned as there is no time for him. On top of that, he has now tested heartworm positive. We desperately need funds to treat him as it wll cost about $500. Please if you can help him - he'd very much appreciate it.
3/17/10: Meet Danny!
Danny, a beautiful Shepherd mix, is approximately 2-1/2 years old and is a sweet boy. His owner is surrendering him because he does not have time for him. He presently lives in New England.
A quiet home with other dogs to hang out with would be best for Danny. Danny is shy when meeting new people, but once he knows you, he loves hugs, belly rubs, ear rubs and head scratches! Danny LOVES to play with other dogs.
We do not know how Danny would be with cats as he has not been exposed to them.
Danny would love a large, fenced yard to play in and he does require a leash at this point when going fo walks because he needs work on recall training.
