Denz's Story...
Meet Denz! Denz is as unique as her name! A recent addition to ARF, Denz has already captured the hearts of her foster family. Denz is a female boxer/sharpei mix and is approximately 1 year old. Denz has lots of energy and is excellent with kids! Denz shares her foster home with a 3 year old and a 4 1/2 year old, and the children just love her. Denz takes treats very gently.

Denz is both dog friendly and cat friendly, sharing her foster home with a kitten. Denz is starting to understand that life is fun and full of love! Denz is catching up on everything she missed in life so far. She is learning how to play fetch. She has to be shown what to do with dog toys- which might be why she hasn't touched a single kid toy! Denz can be shy at times, timid of passing cars on her walks. Denz is very smart and a good listener. She hasn't had any accidents in the house. Denz has developed a fondness for bird chasing, and even jumped after an airplane. Denz had what her foster family believed to be her first leashed walk, and she did great. She now sits and waits for her leash to be attached.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Denz, a Berea Boxer/Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Shar Pei for sale in Berea, or seeking a Boxer/Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Shar Pei breeders who help with Boxer/Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
