Angie's Story...
Angie is a very sweet young lady. She loves to be petted. When her foster mom is lying down, Angie will come up to snuggle with her, rubbing against her hand asking to be petted. She will meet her foster mom at the door and rub up against her and lick her toes. Because Angie is nervous at adoption events, potential adopters do not get a chance to see what a wonderful, sweet cat she is. Angie has been looking for a home for over a year and hopes that someday someone will give her a chance to show how great she is. Angie is a "torbie," meaning that she is a combination of tortoiseshell (mixture of lots of colors) and tabby. Angie is about 2 years old.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Angie, a Reston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Reston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Reston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Reston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Reston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Reston paves the way for another one to be saved.
