PUPPY 9's Story...
Puppy 9 is a 3 month old female. Listed as a Pomeranian mix by the shelter. We are not sure this is accurate. She looks more like a Papillon/Chihuahua. She had a long puppy coat when she first arrived, though she has blown that. We do believe she will have a long, silky coat. She is a darling little black pup. She is a bit more timid that her brother, but boy does she love to cuddle. She is already a pro at using a doggie door (after we gave her a booster block just outside the door).

She was pulled during a very bad parvo outbreak at the shelter. Some thought we were crazy, be we had to give these babes a chance. Better to be with us than in a kennel with 15 other puppies, so overcrowded and cold. We are very happy to announce that they have made it through 4 full weeks of quarantine and are happy and healthy. The last photo is with her brother, also listed as a Pomeranian mix.

Adopters must be committed to work with the destruction and energy associated with raising a puppy, along with housebreaking accidents. As with all puppies, socialization and puppy obedience classes are a must. This will ensure that you will have an outgoing, socialized, well behaved, and well adjusted adult dog in your family. Their adopters will be required to complete their series of puppy vaccinations, including rabies. In addition to their adoption fee, a refundable deposit is required to secure their sterilization in accordance with state law.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

PUPPY 9, a Phelan Papillon/Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Papillon/Chihuahua for sale in Phelan, or seeking a Papillon/Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Phelan.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phelan already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phelan breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Papillon/Chihuahua breeders who help with Papillon/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phelan paves the way for another one to be saved.
