Here's what the humans have to say about me:
The "Hound Sisters," so lovely, so thin, were struggling to make it on their own on a nearby pueblo. Two kind women discovered them, fed them, named them, and brought them to us (first Bella, then Faith) as soon as they were brave enough to be tucked into a car. The mutual double-take when they were reunited within a few weeks was worth a thousand words!
Living lonesome, hungry, and frightened for so long, it took them awhile to settle into community life, but settle they did! And then one day, Bella decided she was leash-trained! So we took her to an adoption day in the city! So many strange sounds, at first she behaved like a skittish colt. Then she surrendered to admiration and tummy rubs and had a whole lot of fun.
These lanky girls play with almost all the other dogs, but think Jake is the coolest guy on the mesa. The three of them run like the wind, leap and spin like Olympians, until they drop off to sleep or hear the dinner call, whichever comes first.
However -- sisters being sisters -- we think finding them separate homes might be best, unless you have space and time to make sure they get plenty of exercise. Faith and Bella are intelligent, responsive, affectionate, companionable, and seeking active humans with those same traits -- and at least one other playful dog.
