Dora's Story...
Dora - Brown Abyssinian-Tabby Mix Domestic short hair, spayed female, d.o.b. 6/20/07

Dora is an affectionate kitty who loves to be petted and will carry on a conversation with you. She is definitely curious and loves to explore her environment, as her name implies. Rescued as a young kitten with her sister Dori, and adopted shortly after, she was recently returned to Fluff Buddies and needs a new forever home.

She appears to get along okay with dogs, but might need an additional introduction time if she goes to a home that does already have a cat. She’s just enough of an Abyssinian to prefer having her humans all to herself. While not a lap cat exactly (she walks across your lap), she does come for pets when called. She likes cat trees and to play with toys on a stick.

She is box trained. Dora is current with her FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dora, a North Highlands Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in North Highlands, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in North Highlands.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Highlands already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Highlands breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Highlands paves the way for another one to be saved.
