Convoy's Story...
Introducing Convoy. I am a 3 year old Purebred, Male German Shepherd. Seems my family didn't want me anymore....I know, I know, same old story. Convoy was picked up as a stray, wandering the streets. He must have been left outside quite a bit, as both his ears have been fly bitten. Convoy also was heartworm positive, but underwent his treatment and was given a clean bill of health. As if this wasn't enough, I found a "lump/bump" on Convoy's back thigh....Convoy went in for his neuter today and I had the vet look/feel the lump. The vet felt that it was very odd feeling and took an x-ray. Convoy was shot at pretty close range and had a .22 caliber bullet deep in his thigh muscle. They felt it was best to remove the bullet so it didn't move or shift and cause problems for Convoy down the road. Despite all this, Convoy is a VERY happy guy, who just loves people of all sizes, and has soooo much love to give. He is also a very intelligent boy, seems to know his basic commands. Convoy currently weighs 72 lbs and gets along great with other dogs. Convoy is the epitome of a German Shepherd.......Loyal, Confident, Beautiful, Alert/Watchful, Obedient, Intelligent, Proud ...... He LOVES being with you and is happy to be right next to your side. His face lights up with attention. After everything this boy has been through, ears bitten by flies, heartworm and being shot, you would NEVER know it. When he sees people he ust shines.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Convoy, a Rochester/Buffalo German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
