Barney's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Barney's Story...
Barney, a purebred Golden Retriever born 5/17/05, was given up by a family who realized that a puppy should not be left home alone for 12 hours each day. Barney is absolutely gorgeous, with the lovely disposition we all expect from a Golden, and based on his reaction to his playmates in foster care, we're guessing that he would really love a canine brother or sister to play with. He's been having a great time in our fenced yard, and fencing in his next home would be a real plus. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, crate-trained and ready for you to show him what it's like to really be a part of a family, and not part of the furniture. We'll be looking for a home for Barney with prior dog experience and an understanding of the time and patience it takes to train a large breed puppy. If you're interested, please complete our online application at www.floraspetproject.org--no phone calls, please. Suggested donation: $400

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Naugatuck Golden Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Naugatuck, or seeking a Golden Retriever puppy from a breeder in Naugatuck.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naugatuck already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naugatuck breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naugatuck paves the way for another one to be saved.
