Barley's Story...
Hello, my name is Barley. I am an 8 month old staffie/shepherd mix with a bronze coat and golden heart. I am very social and love adults, children, and other dogs. In fact, I get so excited to greet people and receive pets, my butt shakes. People laugh, but I can't help it! I also love playing in the dog run. Some of my favorite things include: sticks, balls, peanut butter, exposing my belly to receive a petting, and cuddling with my foster dad.

I am house trained and walk well on a leash. Since I am still a puppy, I have a lot of energy so I’m looking for an owner who can give me a lot of attention and exercise. I would make an excellent family dog. You would be hard pressed to find a more well-behaved, loving, playful, good-natured canine!

Neutered with all shots up to date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barley, a Long Beach American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Long Beach, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Long Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Long Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Long Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Long Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
