Sunny's Story...
Meet our very own Sunny from New Orleans. She was saved from Hurricane Katrina and is so very happy to be with us (and we're happy to have her!!), and wants to start a new life with a new, loving family. Sunny is very young, full of energy and very friendly. She would love a home where she would get lots of exercise and attention. This is great for all of you out there who want to lose a few pounds and go for long walks!! Sunny is the perfect size - maybe 40 lbs. at the most. She is just soooooooo sweet. Sunny has a very friendly and bright personality - she's just.... Sunny!! So full of energy and life - thank goodness she was saved. We will be placing this southern belle in a suburban home because she doesn't do well with city noises and crowds. If you would like some more info, please call Bobbi at 718-845-0779 or 917-213-9840. For immediate consideration, please download our application from and email it to Thank you so much!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sunny, a Freeport German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever for sale in Freeport, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Freeport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Freeport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Freeport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Freeport paves the way for another one to be saved.
