Gus's Story...
My name is Gus! I enjoy spending time close to people or my big sisters Gypsy and Kimber, making sure y'all smile at least 10 times a day minimum. I can usually be found with my Nylabone in my mouth as I hucklebutt (run around like a mad man) around the back yard. I like to chew on resilient toys like Nylabones since I tend to shred soft toys. I do not destroy furniture or the yard and have got sit, down, leave it and drop it mastered. I will always wait patiently for my food. I don't mind being brushed or having my feet touched when you do my nails. I LOVE the water and nothing is more fun than running down a narrow stream as fast as I can or just laying in mucky puddles! I also sleep in my crate throughout the night without making a peep. I am wary of young children below 12 years of age, but my foster parents are working with me on that. I also tend to get nervous with sudden hand movements and loud noises and will need constant reassurance until I get over my initial hesitations. Gus is a neutered 1 year old male (turned one on May 10, 2010) currently weighing 30 pounds. Gus is microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on his shots. Gus is being fostered in Fayetteville, NC.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus, a Siler City Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Siler City, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Siler City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Siler City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Siler City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Siler City paves the way for another one to be saved.
