Tamara's Story...
"Tamara" is a cool name and this is a cool cat! She's not only quite pretty (all the boy cats are trying to get her Facebook page!), she's also about the sweetest thing! She loves to "bump" you for attention and to get her ears scratched. She has a lush brown tabby coat with big green eyes....quite striking! She wound up here at the Shelter through no fault of her own....her former owner took her and "Tia" (#111) to the vet and abandoned her there. She's young and friendly and will make a wonderful housepet for some lucky family! Come in and meet her in our Cat Room. You won't be disappointed! They probably grew up together. Adopt them both! Kennel #113.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tamara, a El Cajon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
