My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a new family friend? Do you love seeing a beagle wag his tail? Does it make you smile to have a happy dog follow you around? Do you want a friend who loves hugs and belly rubs but is not super clingy? How about a beagle that has a playful side, but also enjoys a good nap? Then look no further because I am the beagle for you! I am Rascal a 4.5 year old retired beagle. I am so happy to be in the real world and I am adjusting really well.

I am very sweet and happy. I might have a little bit of a rascally personality but I am not wild, just a fun loving guy. I am a good listener, I love belly rubs, hugs, sleeping in my dog bed, playing with toys, and being near other dogs. I still have some work on my house training but I am pretty predictable, so if you keep me on a regular schedule it will work out well for all of us. I am able to keep my crate clean and dry all day long! I am the dog on the right in this picture - hanging out with my foster brother, Cole.


I do have a special need. My eyes are dry and I need one drop in each eye twice a day. I am very good for my drops so it is easy to do. It's not a big deal, but I have to get my medication from a veterinarian, and I must have them for the rest of my life. I know I am not perfect yet but I’m smart. I promise to love you forever and always if you just give me a chance. (To learn more about Rascal's eye condition please click here.
