Basset lovers have we got a girl for you! Patty came from a high-kill shelter where most of the animals are euthanized due to lack of homes and space. She is the sweetest girl and very small for a Basset, just 35 pounds. Sadly, we think she was not treated very nice (likely was a puppy mill or backyard breeder dog), so she is a bit shy of humans at first. But she has quickly learned that a nice belly rub and good food makes humans ok! She is doing GREAT. One of Patty's best qualities is that she loves dogs and instantly every canine she meets is her new best friend. Patty does not have a mean bone in her body and freely shares food, toys and human attention. She is truly a sweet, gentle soul just looking for a patient loving owner. She can be a bit of a clown, she likes to play with her dog toys, chew bones, go for walks (with her bone!) and play with other dogs. This is the best dog park dog you're likely to find. Patty will shine the brightest in a home with another kind dog and a fenced yard. It will take her a few days to trust her new family and realize they love her and will not hurt her ~ but then she will bond for life. She was not housetrained on intake, but she's doing great with it! Patty finds comfort and security in her crate, so this too will be required.
