I am already spayed and up to date with shots.
My name is Polly and I am a black Lab mix. I weigh about 40lbs and I am around 2 years old. I'm spayed and up to date on my vaccines, as well as heartworm negative. I came from a high kill shelter in Ohio and thankfully I was rescued the night I was to be killed, but that isn't the worst of it. My previous owner beat me so severely that I'm now blind in my left eye. I have become very timid as a result of how I was treated. I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful foster in Ohio who took great care of me while I was awaiting the transport to Rochester. I am looking forward a new life with my forever parents who will need to be understanding and very patient with me as I go forward. I am hoping to experience loving times which I have never known to be possible.
I love to go for walks, ride in the car and I'm completely housebroken and crate trained. My foster parents here in Rochester have two other Labs and two cats whom I have come to love curling up with at night in my foster's bed. I'm finding some of my favorite times with my foster parents are just snuggling up for a relaxing evening, or laying by their feet, feeling secure. I am anxious to give all my love and affection to someone who can love me for me. I love belly rubs and I love to give kisses. I'm now just starting to learn how to walk on a leash without pulling and sit when I am asked to. I've learned that there are nice people in this world, and they are working hard to give me a second chance. After all, I ended up in this mess by no fault of my own. I have had enough sadness; now I am ready for some happy times. Won't you please open your home and your heart to me?
