My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rumple and Raisin are a bit of an odd couple; they came to us from different situations and have very different personalities, but they have become quite good friends, and would like to find a home where they can live together forever.

Raisin is our favorite little cowgirl; she's spunky, independent, playful, loving, and loyal, and she always wears the cutest outfit! As with many of our rescued cats, we don't know exactly when Raisin was born, but our best guess is 2006. Her coloring is called chocolate point and she's at least part Siamese -- look at those blue eyes! Her tail is a bit shorter than normal, because it has a kink about halfway up, that makes a 45-degree angle, and another little kink right at the tip. It's very cute! She's a compact little bundle of personality and pizzazz.

Rumple was born about a year ago (2009). He also has gorgeous blue eyes, and his cream and blue-point coloring indicates some Himalayan genes in his background. His coat is medium length and very soft. Rumple is a long and lanky guy but still has some growing to do. His demeanor is much more reserved, and although he enjoys a little mouse-chasing from time to time, Rumple is really a wonderful companion for couch-sitting and other relaxing activities. His purring presence is very peaceful.

Raisin is very smart and still has a lot of kitten energy, so she needs a family who has time to play with her every day to keep her mind stimulated and her body active. It's not difficult, because she loves being around people, and especially enjoys those who will pick up a toy and play with her.

Raisin enjoys meeting other cats, but Rumple was not crazy about having a roommate at first, and spurned her advances with a bop on the head. She was determined to win him over, however, and he soon succumbed to her charms. Although she's a busy and curious girl, Raisin also enjoys lap time. Rumple prefers lap time to most anything else, and he's very content to sit and watch Raisin wear herself out before she joins him for a wash-up, a cuddle and a nap.

Both Raisin and Rumple have perfect house manners and litter box habits. They expect and enjoy daily combing, and are easy-going about nail trims. Both have been fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. Raisin also recently had a dental cleaning.

Rumple and Raisin, like all ARCF cats for adoption, have been neutered/spayed, microchipped, are up to date on vaccines, and have tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Rumple and Raisin, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.
