My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ARBY is a cream, 3 yr old, 20 lb, Lhasa Apso. This happy, beautiful boy is dominant and loves people and other dogs...but he needs structure in his life to know that he is not #1 and he is NOT the alpha in the household. He is very playful and loving, but as many lhasa are, he is protective and guarding. His ideal guardian(s) will have an active lifestyle and MUST have lhasa experience!! He needs to be walked/run on a daily basis. He needs to go into a home with or without another dog, but he loves to play play play and play some more!! Arby needs to know that he is loved but is the #2 dog if he goes to a home with another dog. He's dominant so he needs a firm but loving guardian who will remind him of all the things he learned in training at Doggie Land's bootcamp program! Arby comes with 2 free lessons at Doggie Land. Arby responds to positive training....he is food motivated and will do anything for a treat!! Once he knows you, he is just happy, happy, happy all of the time. He is extremely affectionate and very playful. Lots and lots of kisses and his tail never stops wagging. A yard in his life is imperative. You can almost hear him yelling yyyaaaaawwwhhhoooo! He needs a structured home that will keep him on track and remind him of his training. He really is quite vocal if a "conversation" with others is happening....he likes to speak his mind!!" and he will bark at strangers (that's what he was bred to do!). He was a champ at the groomers, despite the fact that he was totally infested with ticks (no longer!!). Arby wants to please you....but he can be stubborn! He may mark in your home but he knows how to use the doggie door and we believe him to be housebroken (but we will not guarantee). Come see this pup at our adoptions event on Sunday in Brentwood at the Farmer's Market between Montana and San Vicente on Gretna Green Way, (mapquest 740 Gretna Green Way, Brentwood, CA). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! See our home page for more details about our adoptions at
