My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rory: Pearl, female, 5 years old. Rory is a more petite Cockatiel with beautiful coloring; has a small beak and tends to shy away. She was also hand raised and her company was Macaws, so she’s not afraid of them. She likes to flip upside down in her cage and flap her wings and is very attached to Saturn. When either bird is removed from the cage the other will call for them until they’re brought back, or the other is taken out to be with them. Due to her coloration she blends into her surroundings and just waits for you to find her.
Saturn: Cinnamon Lutino, male, 5 years old; born about a month after Rory. He was brought to his previous owner after he was badly injured because the breeder tried to foster him with another clutch of birds. Saturn is an accomplished flyer and loves to play; he’s a wild man : ). He really adores Rory and hates being separated. He’s a singer and responds to any noise or just out of the blue, so he enjoys being whistled to, and is amused by the microwave beeping.

These beautiful guys need a little work on their step up command and are a bit nippy; they need time to adjust to new people and surroundings. When referred to as “chicken nuggets” they get more excited and playful. They don’t have a preference of men or women and they’re not scared of dogs, cats or other birds as long as they don’t get too close. They are converting to ZuPreem pellets very well but aren’t on a complete pellet diet yet. We’re still introducing fruits and veggies though they don’t even touch them now but if you continue every day, they’ll start eating them and it’s very important for them because they’re lacking many vital vitamins without them. They don’t scream but they do chirp a few different times a day for a couple minutes at a time. They make other cute, subtle noises such as whistle and trying to talk; it’s adorable. All their wings are clipped and they allow you to do their nails, too. The only reason these guys were given up is because they didn’t get enough quality time with their owner and she knew it was best for them to find a new owner that can give them tons of attention. It’s loads of fun to hold them all at the same time and have them talking, singing and walking around with you to make sure you’re having a good time. They crave each others’ and human attention and will make someone that can spend a lot of time with them very happy, like a work at home or retired person. They’re up beat, peppy birdies that make your day every time you’re around them.
