My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I was adopted from a shelter in OH when I was a youngster. My family soon learned that I was pretty active & I got real bored just hanging out with the family. They tried to send me to doggy-day-care, but I really needed someone to teach me how to be a well mannered dog. Cassandra was my special friend who worked at the doggie-day-care. When she heard my family wanted to find me a better home & another family wanted me, but couldn't take me for a couple of months, she offered to foster me. She taught me good manners to prepare me for the new family. When the time came for me to go to my new home, the new family wouldn't return calls. The former family didn't want me back. Cassandra gave me the home I needed with structure & training. She needed to move on in her life. She started college & still worked full time. Her own dog was getting to her geriatric years & she needed Cassandra. With the help of BBCR, she is looking for a very special home for me. I am about 4 years old. I weigh about 42#. I'm great with children. I know all the basic obedience commands. I walk good on a leash. I like to go jogging or running beside the bike. I would like to have a home with another dog to play with also.

Our adoption process helps a homeless Border Collie find a forever home while enriching your life with a special new family member! We would love to answer questions about a particular Border Collie, but we need to know some information also!
Our process includes:

1. Filling out our application. Please go to this link:
Buckeye BC Rescue Home Page

2. Meeting with a BBCR volunteer in your home.
3. Discussing potential dogs and setting up an adoption visit. ALL ADOPTION VISITS TO MEET BCs WILL BE CONDUCTED IN TIFFIN, OH.
4. Adopting a great Border Collie that is suited for your environment and needs!

Please be patient! This process does take some time! Our Border Collies listed on our website are just a representative sample of the dogs BBCR has in its program at this time. Some may still be in the evaluation process and not posted yet. If you are interested in adopting a Border Collie from BBCR and don't see the dog that interests you, please fill out an application. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. There is no facility that is open with set hours. Our Border Collies are fostered in our homes where they are evaluated for general health and temperament. Our fee is usually $220 - $250 (may be higher in certain cases).
