Otter - Pending's Story...
Yes, we named him Otter because he looks like one!

Otter is a 2-3 year old Dachshund X. He weighs only 11 pounds. Otter is shy at first when meeting new people but quickly warms up. He loves to be cuddled. Otter is great with other dogs. We will only be placing Otter in a home with older children. His current foster home has been working on his housetraining for the past few weeks and he's there! Otter responds really well to reward based training and will benefit from training classes with his new family.

Otter was abandoned at a shelter in Wasco county in California and has mild separation anxiety. He will do best in a multiple pet household or with someone that is at home most of the day. Otter is the perfect size for apartment dwellers or a house!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Otter - Pending, a Vancouver Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
