McGruff's Story...
McGruff the crime dog here… And lemme tell ya, there has been a crime alright. The crime of abandonment, let down, and illegal breeding. Not only am I the detective on the case, but I’m the main victim!!! Me and my bro Tippy came from the same place, a low down breeder, and not the good caring loving kind, nope that kind that makes puppies in mass numbers then sells us off to those places like Scamps… Guess that’s why Scamps is out of business, ha! Anyway, I’m here to avenge my own homelessness by asking you to give me a chance. I’d love to share my home with your other dog, or even your older children 7+. I’m a super sweet and cute little guy, but I am pretty shy as you might expect… But hey, that’ll change once I get a little stability in my life…… 16 months old-8lbs. My adoption fee is $220 and includes; neuter, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

McGruff, a Portland Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Portland, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
