My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harley is a one year old, 75 pound purebred German Shepherd Dog whose family couldn’t care for him any longer. His foster parents say that he is a very intelligent, well-behaved dog. Harley heels well on-leash, can sit and down and is learning stay. He knows his name and comes on command. He gets along well with three other dogs--another German shepherd and two small Schipperkes. He has been very gentle and quiet around our three-year-old granddaughter and loves every member of our family. He was very friendly and quickly warmed up to visitors in our home. Alone in the fenced in back yard he is quiet and content. He has not shown any aggression to other dogs, to our pony, or to any people who have been in our home. During a walk to a county park, he passed other dogs and people (on leash) without any pulling toward them or showing any signs of aggression. Fosters have been able to take chew bones away from him, as well as his food dish and he doesn't growl or grab for the items. He hasn't had any accidents in the house and he goes into his crate willingly. He is going to be a great family dog for someone! To ensure Harley will thrive in his new home, there are several non-negotiable criteria for his adoption. (1) previous GSD experience; (2) fully fenced yard (not electric fencing); (3) children 10 and older; (4) experienced GSD person at home much of the time, so he isn't home alone for more than 4 hours. (5) commitment to start obedience training immediately. Harley is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. His adoption fee is $400 as he is neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on shots, worming and flea/tick prevention, and has a HomeAgain microchip.
