Oakley's Story...
**As of 6/13/10 Oakley is brand new to rescue....more info and pics to come soon**

Oakley is a brindle and white colored Pittie mix. He is a young male that is just about 1 year old. He was found extremely emaciated as a stray at a high kill shelter where he was to be euthanized, but thankfully rescue saved him before that happened! He was only about 35 pounds when he was brought in, but is going to be fattened up :) He is a very happy, energetic and playful boy that is very friendly with all people. He was found wandering as a stray with another dog and they get along very well and he doesn't seem to mind any of the other dogs he has met.

Oakley is completely UTD on all vaccines, is neutered, micro-chipped and is heartworm negative. His adoption donation is $200. For more information on him or to get an adoption application to apply to make him a part of your family, please contact Melia at melia88@comcast.net or call 708-224-1900.

Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier rescue.
