My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE 2/22/06: Maxie had both of her "cherry eyes" repaired yesterday and is doing just fine! She also had a small mammary tumor removed. Maxie also has an eye condition called Microphthalmia, which may be associated with other minor or major eye abnormalities. Where the changes are mild, there is usually no visual impairment. With moderate microphthalmia, the eyeball fills about half of the opening. Maxie's case is very moderate. She will, though, require eye meds for dry eye for the rest of her life. Maxie is being fostered in southeastern PA and her asking adoption fee is $200.


COMING SOON! Maxie - a 5 to 6 year old very sweet spayed female Shih Tzu mix (Maltese?, Yorkie?, Poodle?, Lhasa?). Maxie is not available for adoption YET - she will be undergoing surgery next week for cherry eye in both eyes that's affecting her vision (a fund has been started in Maxie's name to help with the costs of her surgeries - Maxie will thank everyone personally who contributes!). AND this tiny 8 lb. gal needs some weight put on her as well before we can let her go. We expect that she will become available some time in March - stay tuned!
