Wallace (male) and Grommit (female) are being fostered in Lake Mary, Florida. Mini Aussie Rescue & Support is trying to place them together into a new home.
Meet Wallace and Grommit - two 10 years young Miniature Australian Shepherds whose family has a new baby and not enough time to go around.
Wallace is a male, a black tri, standing only 15-1/2" at the shoulder and weighing 28 pounds. He's very affectionate with people he knows and - typical Aussie - reserved with strangers. He gets a bit excited when playing with other dogs, but if they tell him he's getting too rough, he quickly submits to their warnings. He does chase on occasion (trying to show off his herding instinct), and will tug on his leash at passing cars.
Grommit, a petite female red tri, is a bit smaller than Wallace - she stands 13-1/2" at the shoulder and weighs 21 pounds. She's very sweet and a bit more reserved than Wallace, but with people she knows she loves to give kisses to show how much they mean to her.
She may attempt to herd you now and again, pushing at your heels to move you along, but nothing serious - just showing what a good aussie herding instinct she has. Both these wonderful dogs are housebroken, neutered, up to date on shots, leash trained and know basic commands. They have been together for 10 years - that's a really long time in doggy years - and we are hoping to keep them together in their new home.
