My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Hickory and I am between 3 and 4 years of age. I look younger because I have been blessed with a baby face. I am a happy go lucky basset boy, who ran into some bad luck not to long ago. I was found in a dumpster in the Northwest Valley, not sure how I got there, but without the kindness of a stranger I wouldn't be here. I spent a little time at the Westside Shelter in hopes that my family would find me, but no such luck, so I was brought into the wonderful Basset Hound Rescue and went to my foster home.

My foster mom and four-legged foster siblings rock! They took me in, gave me some TLC and now I am ready to find my perfect forever home. I get along well with everything, other dogs, cats and people. I only talk when I am trying to get some attention or when it is play time. Mom says that I am the quietest basset she has ever had and trust me she would know. I ride well in the car and walk great on a leash. I am not a little piggy, so I can be free fed and actually need to put on a few more pounds

I am learning how to sleep on the dog bed, but honestly would prefer to snuggle down on the sofa or in the bed. Mom says no way, but every once in a while I give her my most pathetic basset look (you know the one) and she lets me snuggle with her for a little while. I got the concept of the doggie door quick and I sure like being outside each morning to sun my tummy.

So, if your looking for a fun loving basset I might just be the one.
