Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ON TRIAL / EN PERIODE D'ESSAI
Some day perhaps Animatch and other rescues will no longer have sad stories of unwanted and neglected dog to tell. However, that day is not here yet! Meet Punkin, a 4-month-old, puppy of unknown heritage (possibly some Lab) who can best be described as a survivor. Punkin came into our care as an unclaimed stray from the pound; this part of the story is not much different than many of our adoptees. However, Punkin arrived with a broken leg and was in a lot of pain. Dr. Plasse, our amazing Vet, has done two surgeries to fix Punkin’s leg. As if this pup didn’t have enough to contend with, after the first surgery she was diagnosed with parvo. After a week-long battle with this terrible disease that has claimed the lives of many puppies and adolescent dogs, Punkin survived. Thanks to the support of everyone who has donated to Animatch, Punkin has made a remarkable recovery. In order to continue to help other dogs have the same chance as Punkin, Animatch must replenish their emergency fund. We are forever grateful to those who have helped over the years and appreciate any donations, large and small. Saving dogs like Punkin is all thanks to people who contribute.
All potential adopters must be aware of the huge time commitment involved in adopting a puppy. Punkin will need puppy training and obedience training so that she can grow into a wonderful family dog. Before considering a puppy, please do appreciate the amount of work and commitment needed to raise a well-rounded dog. Training and socializing has to be ongoing, especially through the adolescent stage. We don’t want our puppies to be rescue stats in the months to come. Two requirements for adopting Punkin are that she is not alone more than a few hours a day and that her new guardian is committed to enrolling Punkin in obedience training. Punkin is ready to start her new adventure .... life in a furever home. Please fill in the adoption form if you are interested in adopting Punkin.
