Pongo's Story...
Pongo is a 6 month old puppy that was surrendered to the shelter by a backyard breeder when he could not sell the "pick of the litter" and did not want to spend money on the much needed medical treatment at the vet.

He was injured by something wrapped around his leg and lost all, but two toes on one foot. Poor Pongo has a severe infection and has developed demodex due to stress too. He has a very sweet temperament despite his rough start in life. Check back for updates on this sweet boy! He is being fostered by Lea in Milton, FL.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pongo, a Albany Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Albany, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
