Dixie's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Dixie's Story...
Dixie is a 5-6 year old female Chocolate lab. She was surrendered to the shelter with 2 other dogs when their owner not care for them properly. She is a sweet girl who likes to sit in your lap, and is always smiling. Dixie requires a kind loving home, that is understanding of her neglected past. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Dixie walks well on a leash, and gets along well with other animals. She requires a home with a fenced yard and will need a home visit prior to adoption approval. (Invisible fencing not acceptable as a dog can go right through it and not look back)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Waterloo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Waterloo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Waterloo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waterloo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waterloo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waterloo paves the way for another one to be saved.
