Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chester (male)
Chester is 4 years old and is a blue Sharpei and has a blue tongue. He has had all his shots and I usually feed him Wellness dry food, the blue bag as it sits better with his stomach. People food makes him sick. He needs alot of room to run when outside but is not an outside dog as he gets too hot and drinks lots of water. I would like whoever gets him to have some knowledge of Sharpeis.. he is very alpha male and whoever is the master that is who he sticks with. He can be very loving and very protective. He will sit at the bathroom door til you are through and follows you all over. He does not like his legs touched when he has a bath so I just dry his back and head and tail and he dries very fast after a bath. His mouth needs wiping alot as he has a big mouth and sometime looks like he is a mad dog but he is not. He just salivates alot. He does bark at people coming in the house or near the house but if it is a friend of yours or someone that comes in alot he gets the scent and remembers them. He may still bark but once you tell him it's alright he understands. He is an extremely smart dog. He senses things and somehow is able to understand quite a bit, i.e. your moods, etc. He is too much for me to handle. He was my son’s dog who has moved on. He’s had him since he was a puppy. He is really protective and if you are outside talking to someone he will try to get out to be by you for protection. He is okay with little kids, he seems to sense they are little and not to hurt them. I find that with his eyesight, as with all Sharpeis, you should not get right in his face. He will react somewhat when that happens. Mary Davis… 318-865-5082. There is a screening process to adopt Chester and his adoption fee is $30. He is neutered and UTD on shots.
