Pepper is a hound cross who is looking for some love. We believe there may be some greyhound in her. She is a fun loving girl who is very affectionate towards people.
We originally came to find Pepper when she was tied to a park bench in February and left overnight at just 8 months old. She was put through the TAGS program we managed to find her a great family home. That is where most TAGS's stories end, but unfortunately, Pepper's TAGS' story continued.
A few years ago while playing in her backyard, Pepper had a run in with a Coyote. Although the Coyote never actually got to her, Pepper was chased through the screen door into the arms of her family. Unfortunately, since then, the poor girl is a bit wary of some dogs (but not all - her best friend is TAGS dog Bart). Pepper puts on an act that is big and tough in order to keep other dogs away. Because of her fear (and her display of how bad to the bone she can be) Pepper was brought back into the program.
Because of her past, Pepper is a people person. She loves to meet and play with new people, however, when other dogs are brought in the mix, she puts on her show and scares the other dogs (and people who don't know her) away. With some love, patience, and training, Pepper would make an extremely loving companion.
