Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Cruiser and I am a beautiful Blue tick beagle, well at least my foster parents think I am beautiful… They also love my red ticking on my paws and legs and my sweet, sweet face!
I’m a real laid back fella, in fact my foster parents have nicknamed me Tator because I love to lounge around, and they say I am a real couch potato! Don’t let that fool you because I also love to play chase with my foster sister… we will play and play and play until we are both tuckered out. I love to tug on the rope with her and we also take turns chasing each other around the yard. I usually tucker out first, but that doesn’t mean I’m not quick to get a second wind.
Foster mom and dad say that I’m a little overweight, so they are trying to make sure I get regular walks in and lots of play time. I think I look pretty good myself, but I was tipping the scale at about 35lbs… I’m working hard getting some definition back so I can be in great shape for my furever family!
Also they say I have a beautiful voice… low and mellow… I usually only bay when I hear other dogs or when I see something soft and fuzzy to chase, other than that I’m a pretty quiet guy. I wouldn’t say I’m a good watchdog, I don’t even bark at the mailman.
And speaking of soft and fuzzy, my foster parents have these things called cats! I like to chase them a little but when it comes down to it, I back right off… those cats can be really scary critters let me tell you!
I also love my crate; I sleep in it at night and enjoy most of my meals in it. I go in it without a problem, though usually there is a bit of persuasion in the form of a tasty treat!
Also I am very good about not going potty in the house. I have only had a few accidents since I have been here and that was in the first few days. I have been good to go for some time now!
My foster parents think it is adorable how I groan and snort… they say that I sound like a sea lion. They also say I give the best hugs… when I want some attention I just go right up to them and lean in for a squeeze. I like to play with stuffed animals and any toy that I discover on my own as well as ropes and I love a Kong filled with peanut butter (reduced fat of course!).
All and all my foster parents think I am a great laid back beagle guy and would do well in a home with other dogs to help keep me active and healthy. I really like other dogs, I have visited with a ton of them and we always have a great time! I am used to a fenced in yard, and I am working on my leash training. Foster mom and dad say I could be better on the leash; I just get so excited to put my great beagle nose to good use that it’s hard for me to focus on much else.
