My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Bonnie. Nice to meet you! I am a sweet american bulldog mix that is only about 1-2 years old. I was found by a lady running around her construction site with another dog. Both of us had embedded collars in our skin, his was worse then mine though. I am a VERY sweet girl who is shy at first but I do warm up very quickly to people. if you rub my tummy I will be your best friend for life. I do need to learn some manners because no one has ever taught me anything in my life. The worst I do is jump on people when I get excited and I do not walk well on the leash. But on the other hand I am eager to please and a very smart girl who will learn quickly to commands taught to me. I do well with other dogs and cats do not bother me. I adore kids, but again I like to jump on them so if you have younger kids, I may tend to knock them over. But then I would just give them kisses all over their face to say how sorry I am. I am an easy going laid back dog who just wants to be by your side. I am crate trained, but the rescue does not know about house trained yet. But again as eager as I am to please they do not think it would take too much time for me to learn the ropes of your household! I would love to have a home to call my very own. I have not had the best care taken of me. I just want to be loved! I am not spayed or microchipped yet but I will be spayed prior to adoption and microchipped

Adoption Fee is $ 200.00

Adoption fee covers for our Adoption Package for dogs which includes: heart worm checked, treated for any fleas and worms, monthly heartworm medication, microchipped, up to date rabies vaccination, spayed/neutered, grooming, DHLPP vaccinations. Discounted 30 days of health insurance, and FREE basic & problem solving training before and after adoption if needed. Full health records are provided to the adopters. DISCOUNTED photo sessions for your dogs at www.saywoofphotography.com

The Adoption fee we ask of adopters is not to pay for the dog. The dog itself is free! The Adoption fee is used merely to reimburse our rescue for veterinary expenses that any responsible owner would spend anyway when bringing a new dog into their home. Howeverever if there are any funds left over from one dogs adoption fee, it is used to help the next dog that comes along. Sometimes FSFH's veterinarian expenses on one animal will be less than this fee, but another dog might require several hundred additional dollars worth of care. Without being able to recover at least the minimal veterinarian expenses on our dogs, FSFH could not continue to rescue. FSFH's fee does not cover the general cost of keeping a dog in rescue (food, equipment, etc.). FSFH relies solely on donations to cover all other expenses related to caring for their rescued dogs. Thank you for understanding.

If interested in adopting please go to www.fewstepsfromhome.com to get an application.

We also accept donations of dog food, cat food, cat litter, and large durable dog toys.
Vet care Donations needed also!
