Here's what the humans have to say about me:
06/23/10: Charlotte Came Close To Being Killed
A person brought in their 4 year old boxer to a vet hospital to be killed. The reason…their young daughter had tried to push the dog off the sofa and the dog put her teeth onto the girl’s arm. (This is a great example why children and dogs need adult supervision). Please read the articles regarding children and dogs in our Education section under the heading "Kids and Dogs" which we hope will help prevent similar incidents from happening to you: http://www.boxerrescue.com/Education/education.htm
The staff at the hospital felt Charlotte was too great of a dog to be killed, and contacted NBR for assistance. We agreed to help save Charlotte‘s life, but we only had two days to do so since no one would be at the hospital over the weekend.
As luck would have it, we recently approved a new foster home that was within a one hour drive from the vet hospital (thank you Nanci). We do want to note that the staff was very sad to see her go…they too fell in love with this gem. We are very thankful that the staff stepped in and took Charlotte under their wing and we appreciate she was also spayed at the Hospital.
She is an exceptional dog that is doing great in her new foster home. Our volunteer feels that she was mistreated somewhere along the line; Charlotte cowers as if she is going to be hit if she thinks she has done something wrong. Once she is reassured she goes right back to her wiggly self.
Charlotte is housebroken and loves people, horses, other dogs, and is just a joy. A quote from her foster mom, ‘she is a perfect dog’. An update from her foster mom will be coming soon.
