My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The first thing you’ll notice about Zoyya is her striking sea-green eyes. We think this exotic beauty was born sometime in 2004, and she is in excellent health. Zoyya is friendly and loving. She enjoys lap time and is content to nap in her own cozy bed during the workday. She seems to be interested in sharing the bed at night as well, although right now she has to fight her way through the other foster cats to get there.

Zoyya was abandoned last year when her people moved away, and she was left to fend for herself outside an apartment complex. Fortunately, Zoyya stuck close to home and did a good job surviving with the help of a kind lady who fed her and gave her a place to sleep. She came to ARCF after her caretaker called to ask for help, fearing for her safety.

Zoyya is well socialized and it is obvious that someone once loved her. She’s not shy per se, but is selective about allowing strangers to touch her. Once she gets to know you, though, she is happy to have you manage the laser light or jerk her string toys around for her to chase.

Zoyya is definitely a little princess: demure and dainty, but she knows what she wants and is happy to request it, especially when it comes to playtime. And she is so happy to be living inside again that she purrs often (but always in a very ladylike manner). She can be startled by sudden movements or loud noises, so she will prefer a fairly calm household. No dogs for her, please, but she would be fine with a laidback kitty pal.

Zoyya, like all ARCF cats for adoption, has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on vaccines, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

If you are interested in meeting Zoyya, please fill out the "I'm interested" form at our website, and our adoption coordinator will respond promptly. Please note that we place cats in the following counties only: Multnomah, Washington, Clackamas and Clark.

Animal Rescue & Care Fund, Inc. is a small rescue organization. We rescue homeless animals only, and do not accept owner-surrendered pets. All our animals live with volunteers in their homes until they are matched with the right permanent family. Thank you for considering one of our pets for adoption.
